On Summoning Magic
Part of a series (prev notes (this) and 2 and 3 and 4)
I think summons are cool in rpgs.
Whether it's a controllable pet MMORPG style, a flashy cinematic attack final fantasy style, A party member replacement, a whole party replacement.. There's a lotta ways to do it, and I kinda like them all! So what if different summons worked differently - and your summoner had a mix of each type to choose from? Food for thought.
Doing some sprites today. Sprites for summons, of course. My process usually looks something like, Brainstorm an idea, See how close the character generator can get, then either go fishing for generator parts or just send it and do manual pixel edits after.
So, WIP, but here are 2 summons for the Primordials, Dreamsketch and Nightweave skillsets (summoning skills not ready in time for the demo) - Chulbrydis, the Blood of Life and Abdielle, the Winter Wolf!
