Asqueria v0.2.1 - Patch Day!


Happy patch day, Asqueria!

There's a doc to download if you want the full details, or have fun with the video trailer below (disregard the version number already behind on hotfix versions :P)

You can still do a few different things in the sandbox playtest demo and I welcome feedback on each!

  • A) Follow the quest/story (dark fantasy jrpg/crpg hybridish, thru creepy winter wonderland)
  • B) Test future party members against a target dummy NPC at any level (6-99)
  • C) Explore and preview the next couple areas in the game, which are unpopulated, but mostly finished areas

You can "beat" the demo/story shortly after the boss in Castle Kyrych, the last dungeon (spooky castle up on the hill), but allows the player to continue playtesting/exploring if they wish.

Highlights:

Gameplay

  • Starting experience/guidance re-worked a bit.
  • Party now starts with Argenti, Aegrit, and Naithe(new in story), at level 6. 
  • Initial gold and items provided at chest near start.
  • Aegrit reworked to be less "one note" in combat. 
  • New targeting tech added, allowing for spells that allow choosing 1 or all targets, as well targeting for ally OR enemy within the same spell, to enable interactions like healing damaging undead creatures (See attached picture!)
  • Many spells combined due to the above change!
  • Reworks for Healing spells/items, Umbra Magic, and Weapon Skills

Other

  • Updates to areas in Chilled Cordillera, and new explore-only area The Shadewode
  • Updates to dungeon maps tilesets, layout, soundtracks, and encounter rates.
  • Passive enemy animations added. They breathe, float, and ooze..
  • Some story stuff, and some special effects tied to those story stuffs
  • Balance updates, Bug fixes, Graphics/UI updates, Playtest NPC upgrades.. and more..

0.2.2 hotfixes-

Of course I broke something! So I fixed it and re up loaded.

  • Fixed a crash bug from the Elem'daat (self destruct) spell oozes use at low health.
  • Reduced the Max HP of most Oozes to account for Elem'daat changes.
  • Fixed a few chests that could be opened infinitely.
  • Fixed a couple more out of bounds areas, and some doors that were not working.
  • Resolved some plugin conflicts, improving performance and fixing some x/y positioning errors for animations and sprites.
  • Removed a couple more files that didn't need to be there.



v0.0.2 v0.2.1 v0.2.2 is live! 

TLDR: I fixed a bunch of things, but added a bunch of things, so now there's new things that might be broken again. Have fun and let me know how it goes!
